HD DSLR Workshops Introduction
The HD DSLR Workshops with Gale Tattersall are master classes taught by Gale on Canon digital single-lens reflex (DSLR)cameras. The workshops specifically focus on the high-definition (HD) video capabilities of the camera, and the cameras practical use for film production. Although centered on the Canon 5D Mark II, with which Gale uses every day on House, the workshops are of use to anyone with an interest in HD DSLR cameras and digital film production in general.

Our HD DSLR Workshops are uniquely formatted to develop over three consecutive days or weeks, depending on the class you select.

Level One Workshop
Gale will be assisted by a talented team of filmmakers and photographers, all of whom will be accessible during the week as the workshop progresses. In addition, every student will get the chance to work in small groups with each instructor, as well as one-on-one time with Gale himself. 5D mark II cameras will be available for students to experience hands-on, as well as all the equipment that Gale uses regularly on set.

Each of the three days will revolve around a different aspect of the cinematographic process for which both the technical and creative sides of using these new digital tools will be explored. Students can expect to learn how to use the basic and advanced functions of the camera, lighting, shooting, and the filmmaking process from concept to creation. The final class will offer the students a collaborative opportunity to take the concepts and skills they have learned throughout the course and create their own original content.

Cost
The HD HDSLR Level One Workshop lasts three consecutive days or weeks, depending on the class you select. This unique format allows time for the material to be absorbed, discussed and tested prior to the next session. The total cost of the 3 day workshop is $1,200, the equivalent of $400 per session.
